Convergence problems in finite element (FE) analysis usually happen because of mistakes in the model. Some common reasons are:
Incorrect or conflicting boundary conditions and constraints.
Improperly defined contact conditions, which can make it hard for Abaqus to solve contact interactions.
Using the wrong type of elements for the analysis.
Entering incorrect or unrealistic material properties.
Modeling a system that is physically unstable.
Choosing an unsuitable increment size, which can affect the solver’s ability to reach a solution.
